At the November 2011 Oktoberfest celebration of the German American Business Circle of Pittsburgh, Jochen Meyer was announced to the crowd of 120 guests as the GABC's incoming chairman for 2012. Formerly with Flabeg Solar, he now is CEO at PMJ Service Parts Management, LLC, based in Wexford, PA and Wiesbaden, Germany.

The meeting, held at the Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh, featured presentations by Victoria Demo, senior vice president for foreign exchange at RBS Securities, Inc., and Barbara Schwarck, executive coach, author and CEO of Clear Intentions International.

The GABC announced that its new scholarship is in the final stages of development and will involve cooperation with the Pittsburgh Rotary Club Foundation, which will provide a qualified tax benefit for donors. The fund will benefit collegiate-level students in Western Pennsylvania who demonstrate academic excellence and strong interest in German-American business affairs and culture, and who plan to further their studies at an accredited institution of higher learning in Germany. The scholarship is a one-time bequest of $2,500.
